What is the Artstor Digital Library?
The Artstor Digital Library is an image database featuring an unparalleled range of images from some of the world's leading museums, photo archives, scholars, and artists in one easily-navigated repository. It is the most comprehensive image resource available for educational and scholarly use, with many rare and important collections available nowhere else.
The library is constantly growing with new collections added monthly, continually expanding our areas of reference and study. All images are accompanied by comprehensive metadata and are rights-cleared for educational use.

What kind of search is available?
- Key word search: Simply enter your keyword(s) in the search box and click GO.
- Advanced Search: Refine your search by date or date range, geography, classification, and/or collection.
- Faceted Search: Filter your results by one of 16 Artstor classifications, geographical area or country, and date range.
- Browse: Navigate through Artstor's categories such as geography or media to discover images of interest.
What other tools are available with the Artstor Digital Library?
- View: Enlarge, pan and rotate.
- Organize: Create image groups and share them with others at your institution, write group descriptions, build presentations, generate citations, and more.
- Print: You can print images, details, descriptive data, and citations.
- Download: Download images and image details individually, in zipped groups of up to 150 at a time, or as PowerPoint presentations.
- Share: Share images or groups of images with others at your institution, create folders and image groups that can be accessed and/or edited by students who are granted permission, and more.
- Mobile: Search, browse, and view image groups on iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Android-powered devices. Also, study with our Flashcard feature.
