How do I access O'Reilly for Higher Education? From the ACC Library Services homepage, click on the 'A-Z List of Databases' below the main search bar. From there, click on the letter O for O'Reilly.

DIY with "Films on Demand" and "Kanopy"

Spending more time around the house these days? Who isn't? How about putting some of that time to use learning a new skill or sharpening your knowledge base? Did you know that ACC Library Services subscribes to several high-quality streaming video sources? It's true! And in addition to providing you with access to loads of great films, some of these services such as Films on Demand and Kanopy contain fantastic "Do It Yourself" (DIY) videos, all of which are accessible via the computer or device of your choice.

Films on Demand

An award-winning streaming video platform, Films on Demand spans a variety of subject areas to enhance and enrich the learning experience. Just some of the DIY subject areas available via Films on Demand include:

Kanopy

An award-winning, on-demand streaming video service that provides access to more than 30,000 films, Kanopy also makes available DIY videos covering many subject areas such as:

• Beauty and Skin Care
• Business, Leadership, and Management Skills
• Classroom Management and Teaching Techniques
• Cooking and Food Technology
• Gardening
• Haircutting and Hairdressing

Both Films on Demand and Kanopy are available by clicking the hyperlinks (or logos) above. In addition, you can locate them (and many more high-quality databases) via Library Services A-Z List of Databases page. 

Once you've connected to either resource, to search for the topics listed above or other areas that may interest you, use the search box located near the top of the screen or click "Advanced Search" (in Films on Demand) or "Browse" (in Kanopy).

Keep in mind that if you're attempting to access either Films on Demand or Kanopy from an off-campus location, you'll need to login with your ACCeID and password. What's more, Kanopy (not ACC) requires that you create an additional (free) account before gaining access to it.
